- Before you install the DOS 6.2 Upgrade or the DOS 6.2
- Step-Up, you should do a directory on the disks and look
- for a file called README.TXT. This text file has
- important information that is not in the DOS manual.
- Reading this README.TXT file may prevent you from having
- all kinds of problems.

- You can browse this README.TXT file using the DOS EDIT
- program. The EDIT program comes with DOS 5.0 and later.
- Suppose, you are using your A drive and just bought the
- DOS 6.2 Upgrade program. Place the first diskette in
- your A drive and type:

- edit a:readme.txt <ENTER>

- To scroll through the file while you are in EDIT, you can
- use your arrow keys or <PG UP>, <PG DN> keys. If you
- want to print the file, press:

- <ALT>
- f
- p
- <ENTER>

- Once you install the DOS 6.2 Upgrade or the DOS 6.2 Step-
- Up, you can also read the README.TXT file. It will be
- located in the C:\DOS directory. To load the README.TXT
- file into the DOS EDIT program after you have installed
- DOS 6.2, at the system prompt type:

- edit c:\dos\readme.txt <ENTER>
